" KE20
The second generation Corolla was introduced in may 1970. ( KE20 ) It was longer, wider and lower than the KE10.In Japan the new Corolla was offered in 2 and 4 door saloons and estate cars as well as a sleek new coupe. All in total there were 26 different saloons,13 coupes and 9 estates. A total of 48 Corollas models to chouse from...The widest selection of cars in its class at the time.
June 1971,five years after the first Corolla rolled of the line at Takaoka,1,000,000 had now rolled off. These figures show the KE20 series was now Toyotas best seller at home and abroad. In 1972 a GT was added to the Corolla line called the Corolla Levin,it had an 1600cc D.O.H.C. (2T-G ) Engine, that
developed 115 H.P. It won series of rallies from 1973 to 1979.
It led Toyota to become a big name in the rally world within
the U.K. The KE20 came ashore in late 1970 as a 2-door saloon, the engine now a 1200cc.New front disk brakes added, the car was now faster and more comfy.Late 1971 saw an 3-door estate ( KE26 ),then in 1972 Toyota introduced a sleek new coupe SL ( KE25 ),it had the same 1200cc engine( 83 B.H.P)with twin carbs and uprated valve springs. It had a full wood look dash, a sporty steering wheel and rev-counter.It was a very sporty looking wee car of its time.
The grille was changed in Oct 73 it looked like a smile, around the same time the SL tag was changed to SR, said to be due to objection by Marcedes-Benz who already used this label.
There was a KE25 sold in Japan with a 2TB Engine known as the Sprinter,it was used for European rallying by Ove Andersson in the early 70s,before he started using the Celica. An old photo at the side ,is off Bijorn Waldegaard driving a Corolla Levin in the 1974 RAC Rally of Great Britain. He was another team driver at the time.
The second generation ended in late 74 to make way for the new KE30 series, although a 4-door Corolla E came out at about the same time and was a KE20. It ran till about 1977 to use up all the old shells."
Isto foi tirado de outro site posso arranjar a fonte...Resumindo aqui diz que a segunda geracao foi de 70 a 74 e a partir dai sao os ke30!
Agradecia um esclarecimento, agora fiquei confuso
